COGS Participation Game at Dales Wargames 26th February 2023

At Dales Wargames this coming Sunday (at the Whitworth Centre, Darley Dale), we'll be running a massive test-run of our participation game for Hammerhead.

In this game of fantasy themed bounty-hunting you will take control of a pair of hunters, a veteran and a rookie, in a quest to eliminate as many monsters and other "ner-do-wells" as possible over our 18ft x 4ft table including a dockyard, city, fortifications, countryside, mine and dungeon.

The rules are home grown and we need players to help test them This can be a case of dropping in and playing for around an hour, or more or less as you choose.

So why not pop in and play our game for a bit?

We're back! Shake off the lockdown cobwebs and get gaming again!

Here are the details you need to know...

First Monday Club 2nd August: Main Hall and Room 6 as previously.

First Wednesday Club 11th August: Room 1 and Room 3 (Upstairs). (Not in the church!!!)

Entry on Wednesday is via the front door as there will be a dance class in session in the Main Hall.

Restrictions still in place are:

 - Each table is regarded as a bubble. Please wear a mask when coming in or leaving your bubble.

 - Toilets: On Monday toilets will open as usual. On Wednesday one will be reserved for the Dance Class and one for the Games Club.

 - We must not mix with other groups in the building!

And that's it... all we need now is the games!

Re-opening delayed until 2nd August

With the national lockdown easing being moved from 21st June to 19th July at the earliest we have made the decision to delay reopening of the club until 2nd August.

Whilst we could have opened on 5th June as planned we would have had to conform to various restrictions during the meetings and making sure everything would work within the legal framework would have been a bit of a chore. The delay of less than a month in re-opening seemed a perfectly reasonable thing to do when you consider that once we do re-open there would be no restrictions in place at all.

So the first Monday meeting will be on the 2nd of August and the first Wednesday meeting will be on 11th of August.

Fingers crossed that I won't be posting again of another delay!

Corona Virus Update - Possible Re-opening?

Well that lockdown was a lot longer than 2 weeks! It's weird now looking back. How naïve we were!

Anyway, we have now had word from the Parish Centre that they hope to reopen soon. As such we have booked dates for meetings starting on 5th July, every Monday and every 2nd and 4th Wednesday, excepting any Bank Holidays. This is as it was before this whole madness started. I have updated the Meetings Dates page with this info.

It is unknown at this time as to what, if any, restrictions there will be at the meetings, but we'll keep you posted.

So here's hoping we'll be back to gaming again soon!
