Warhammer 40k
Introduction
OK, It is safe to say that Warhammer 40k is, at this moment, the most popular run game in COGS.
As at the 27th of January we have a league with 4 divisions of 22 players, a starters to mid-level
section with a further 12 players and that excludes those players unable to play in the league,
probably another 10 players. The interest is great and the club benefits from the membership but
whew balancing player numbers to tables has proved immensely hard. This is one of the main reasons
we opted to open a new Wednesday night club for older players 16+, in order to ease the pressure of
league matches and reward those who help with (or more realistically referee) the starters section.
Of course to look at the web-site you wouldn’t guess this was the case, so after months of attempted bribary,
force, blackmail and violence, I’ve decided to begin the first column myself. In future weeks others will,
by dint of being threatened with a sharpened wraithlord, be adding their own thoughts, armies, tactics,
photographs and other gossip to this tome.
First of all I suppose I’d better let you know something about our own league and some of the personalities,
a somewhat misleading term taking their recent psychiatric evaluations. I will reveal more of the secrets
of our merry band as time and legal defence expenditure allow.
